Theresa Colomba has been introducing hand made jewelry to the U.S. since 1993.  While traveling to such locales as Europe, Indonesia, Mexico and Central America, Theresa developed an appreciation for diverse cultures and unique people.  Whether she was enjoying the aromas of the open-air bazaars of Indonesia or watching the energetic, brightly-clad children of Oxaca, Mexico, Theresa discovered a common thread unifying these exhilarating cultures – local jewelry artisans.  It was an appreciation of their work and a love of sterling silver that inspired Theresa to establish her company, Nu-Way Imports.

Early on in the business, the majority of Theresa’s time was spent traveling to outdoor events to show her jewelry.  Theresa and her family relocated from Long Island, New York to Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia in 2007 and Theresa renamed the business Brooksilver Designs and began actively pursuing boutiques and trade shows.  Working with several artists in the U.S. and abroad, Theresa’s designs has evolved a great deal in terms of quality and complexity, and she has successfully introduced many new ideas into the market.

Theresa has studied the craft of jewelry-making and design in the U.S. and abroad, including the renowned Parsons School of Design in New York City.

Brooksilver Designs fills a niche in this competitive industry by introducing fresh concepts to the market, listening to client needs and ideas, and collaborating with clients to achieve common goals.
